1. Product Overview
This machine is designed for formability testing of thin metal sheets/strips to evaluate plastic deformation performance, complying with standard
GB/T 4156-2007 Metallic materials — Sheet and strip — Cupping test.
It adopts all-electric mechanical clamping & buffering structure. The punch presses into specimens and stops automatically once crack occurs. An optional camera is available for video playback to precisely read the cupping depth at the moment of crack initiation.
Test Principle
A spherical-end punch indents a specimen fixed between die and clamping die until a through crack generates. The indentation depth of the punch is defined as cupping value, which reflects the ductility of sheet metal. Specimen is clamped with 10kN clamping force, and cupping depth (mm) is recorded after penetration cracking.
